Bet on Recovery ("we," "us," "our") operates betonrecovery.org. We take your privacy seriously, especially given the sensitive nature of gambling recovery. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We never see or store your actual password. When you use the app, we store your assessment results, module completion progress, daily check-in data, streak information, and any data you enter into exercises like the budget calculator.
If you request an email guide, we store your email address and signup source. If you ask us to email your assessment result, we also store the self or family path you selected, your number of yes answers, and the resulting summary. The individual answers are not included in that email request. If you take the assessment without signing in and do not request results by email, your answers remain in your browser session.
We do not collect your real name unless you choose to provide it. We do not collect your physical address, phone number, or any financial account information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials. We do store billing identifiers, subscription status, and payment-event information such as amount and currency to manage access and measure payments. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.
We use your data to provide the recovery tools, save your progress, maintain your account, and send service emails such as password resets. If you request an email guide or assessment result, we send the requested content and seven days of recovery emails, including an optional paid-program offer. You can unsubscribe from these recovery emails using the link in each message.
We use service providers to operate the site: Supabase stores account and app data, Stripe processes payments, and Resend delivers email. Resend receives the recipient address and message content; a requested results email includes your assessment summary. We do not sell or rent your personal information or share it with employers or insurance companies. We do not use your recovery answers or notes for advertising.
Your data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database with encryption at rest and in transit. All connections to our app use HTTPS encryption. Database access uses authentication and Row Level Security to restrict users from accessing another user's records. Authorized application services also process data to operate the tools, deliver email, manage billing, and provide restricted owner analytics.
You can view all data we have stored about you at any time through the app. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will permanently remove all your data within 30 days. You can export your data at any time.
We use cookies to maintain login sessions and internal testing preferences. Browser storage keeps assessment answers, local drafts, preferences, and a random session identifier used for site analytics. Our first-party analytics records page visits, referral sources, and actions such as opening a lesson, making a plan, or starting checkout, with data stored in Supabase. Browser event metadata excludes email addresses, individual assessment answers, and recovery notes. During checkout, the session identifier is passed to Stripe so payment events can be attributed to the visit. We use these counts to understand which pages and tools are useful; they are not a record of verified recovery outcomes.
Bet on Recovery is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via email before the changes take effect.
